PostFinance, a financial services firm that is fully owned by the Swiss government, has partnered with Sygnum’s B2B banking platform to offer its customers a range of regulated crypto services. With this partnership, PostFinance customers will be able to buy, store, and sell cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). PostFinance, which boasts more than 2.5 million customers, aims to offer trading and safekeeping within a secure framework and ensure the highest level of regulatory compliance. This partnership with Sygnum represents an important, fully regulated step towards increased asset class adoption.
Moreover, PostFinance will be able to provide revenue-generating services such as crypto staking thanks to the partnership. Sygnum’s staking offerings include Ethereum, Cardano (ADA), Internet Computer (ICP), and Tezos (XTZ). PostFinance customers will have access to a continually expanding B2B offering, which currently includes 25 leading cryptocurrencies, 60+ trading pairs, and four leading fiat currencies. The new partnership is a significant development in Switzerland’s investment ecosystem, offering regulatory clarity for cryptocurrencies and off-balance sheet segregation of crypto assets which eliminates credit risks.
