Bitcoin and Ethereum Onchain Fees Drop Below $2, Marking a Low

Bitcoin and Ethereum network fees have remained low, even as their prices rise. In the first week of January 2025, Bitcoin’s average transaction fee was $1.40, while Ethereum’s was slightly lower.

Over the past month, Bitcoin fees averaged $3.08 per transaction but dropped significantly to $1.40 by early January. Ethereum’s fees also followed a similar trend, averaging $1.09 over the last 30 days, with the first five days of 2025 slightly higher at $1.10. Both networks saw transaction fees well below $2, with Bitcoin’s average fee dropping to $1.34, reflecting a quieter start to the year.
