The SEC and Binance have filed a joint motion to pause their ongoing lawsuit for 60 days to allow the SEC’s new crypto task force to develop regulatory guidelines.
The task force, led by Commissioner Hester Peirce, aims to create a framework for digital asset oversight, potentially influencing the case’s outcome. Binance and its U.S. affiliates, BAM Trading Services and BAM Management, are facing allegations of securities violations.
The pause will help conserve resources and could lead to an early resolution, possibly eliminating the need for further court motions. The court will review the situation after 60 days to decide on an extension.
