Argentina’s Liberal Candidate Milei Claims Readiness to Implement Dollarization Plan
Javier Milei, a liberal presidential candidate in Argentina, has announced that he possesses the necessary funds to dollarize the country’s economy at current market rates.
Milei emphasized that his team has entered into a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with undisclosed third parties who will provide the liquidity required to close the Central Bank of Argentina. Asserting his commitment to combat inflation, Milei stated that negotiations have been progressing while addressing critics who argue that dollarization is unfeasible. He is preparing a law project for presentation in the Argentine congress and estimates a shorter implementation period for new dollarization formats.
However, Milei’s position in the polls has declined, with Sergio Massa, Argentina’s economy minister, joining the presidential race and surpassing him in popularity.
