April NFT Sales Plummet by Over 31%: Ethereum and Solana Witness Significant Drops
In April, non-fungible token (NFT) sales saw a significant 31.26% decline compared to March, totaling approximately $1.15 billion across various markets.
The number of NFT buyers dropped by 51.88%, and sellers experienced a 45.72% decrease. Despite this overall downturn, Bitcoin emerged as the top blockchain for NFT sales, generating $597.62 million, although this was 4.3% lower than March. Ethereum NFT sales plummeted by 56.8% to $247.32 million. And Solana-based NFT sales also fell by 39.4% to around $159 million. Notably, Immutable X and Avalanche witnessed increases in NFT sales for April.
The most lucrative collection was Bitcoin’s Uncategorized Ordinals, raking in $314.82 million, followed by Bitcoin Puppets at $72.47 million. Ethereum’s Cryptopunk #635 was the highest-priced NFT sale at $12.4 million, showcasing ongoing activity and fluctuating trends in the NFT market.
