AI Infrastructure Boom Intensifies as Meta Commits Up to $27 Billion to Nebius
The global race to build artificial intelligence infrastructure is accelerating after Meta committed up to $27 billion in spending with AI cloud provider Nebius.
The five-year agreement will secure massive computing capacity needed to train and operate advanced AI systems, highlighting the growing demand for large-scale AI data centers. Under the deal, Nebius will deliver about $12 billion in dedicated AI infrastructure starting in 2027, with Meta able to purchase up to $15 billion more in additional computing capacity over the following years. The infrastructure will rely on advanced Nvidia-powered AI clusters designed to support next-generation machine-learning workloads.
The agreement reflects a broader AI infrastructure spending frenzy among Big Tech companies, as firms race to secure the computing power needed for increasingly complex AI models. Analysts say partnerships with specialized “AI cloud” providers like Nebius are becoming a key strategy for scaling global AI development.
