13 Nations Join BRICS as Partners, Strengthening International Alliance
Following the recent BRICS summit in Kazan. India confirmed that thirteen countries were granted partner status in a strategic move to expand global influence.
The new partner countries, including Algeria, Indonesia, and Turkey, will participate in BRICS initiatives but won’t have full membership privileges. This summit also marked the official addition of Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE as full BRICS members, bringing total membership to ten.
The BRICS leaders committed to creating a local currency payment network to reduce reliance on the U.S. dollar and support efficient, low-cost international payments. Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized plans to boost investment within BRICS and the Global South. Aiming to support infrastructure and tech projects that drive economic growth in emerging economies.
