Yearn Finance Suffers $9 Million Exploit, Recovers Part of Lost Funds

Yearn Finance experienced a security breach in which an attacker exploited a vulnerability in an older yETH pool. Allowing them to mint excessive tokens and drain approximately $9 million in assets.
A portion of the stolen funds was quickly moved through mixers to hide the transaction trail. According to early on-chain analysis. The project confirmed that the incident was limited to a legacy pool and did not affect its newer V2 or V3 vaults. Yearn has since recovered about $2.39 million worth of pxETH and is continuing efforts to trace remaining funds. The exploit has renewed concerns about outdated smart contracts in DeFi and the risks they pose even when core systems remain secure.
