Yardeni Raises Stock Market Crash Odds to 35% as Oil Shock Threatens Global Economy

Ed Yardeni, president of Yardeni Research, has raised the probability of a U.S. stock market collapse to 35%. Citing rising geopolitical tensions and surging oil prices.

The strategist warned that the ongoing conflict in the Middle East has pushed crude prices sharply higher, increasing the risk of economic instability and market volatility. Yardeni noted that oil shocks have historically preceded recessions and bear markets. Especially when higher energy costs fuel inflation while slowing economic growth. He now expects a possible 10–15% stock market correction, though a deeper bear market cannot be ruled out if inflation and geopolitical risks continue to intensify.
