XRP Trading Develops a “Rush Hour” as 23.5% of Onchain Volume Concentrates in Three Hours

XRP Ledger (XRPL) trading activity is becoming increasingly concentrated during traditional financial-market hours, with 23.5% of all weekday onchain XRP volume in July occurring between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. UTC. The period when London’s afternoon session overlaps with New York’s morning.
That represents a sharp increase from just 14.3% during the same three-hour window in July 2025. With activity peaking around 2 p.m. UTC. The pattern was identified by XRP treasury company Evernorth and appears across all three major XRPL trading channels: decentralized order books, automated market maker (AMM) pools, and cross-currency payments. Evernorth argues that the increasingly pronounced “banker hours” pattern is consistent with growing institutional participation in XRP, particularly as the ecosystem expands into stablecoins, tokenized assets, ETFs, and institutional settlement.
However, blockchain data can show when and how transactions occur but cannot identify whether banks, institutions, retail investors, or automated trading systems are responsible, so the pattern is suggestive rather than definitive proof of institutional adoption. Still, the shift from 14.3% to 23.5% in just one year indicates that XRP liquidity is increasingly clustering around the same hours that dominate global foreign-exchange and institutional trading—a potentially important sign of XRPL’s growing integration with traditional financial markets.
