XRP Slides 69% From Peak Even as XRP Ledger Activity Jumps 35%
XRP has fallen to around $1, marking its lowest daily close since November 2024 and leaving the token roughly 69% below its January 2025 peak near $3.30. Yet activity on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) is moving in the opposite direction.
Daily active addresses averaged approximately 35,700 in August. Up nearly 35% from July’s 26,400, with Aug. 11 recording the busiest day since early June. However, new-address creation remained essentially flat at about 2,260 per day, suggesting that the increase is being driven primarily by greater activity among existing participants rather than a wave of new users. Large holders also appear to be accumulating during the downturn, with the number of wallets holding at least 1 million XRP increasing by 32 over three months even as XRP’s market capitalization declined sharply.
Meanwhile, institutional access continues to expand through regulated derivatives and corporate use cases. The divergence suggests that XRP’s falling price has not translated into declining network engagement. But the data does not yet confirm broader user adoption or signal that the price has reached a bottom.
