Pavel Durov, founder and CEO of Telegram, was arrested at Le Bourget airport in France under a search warrant issued by the French judicial police.
The arrest, prompted by allegations that Telegram’s anonymity features facilitate crimes like terrorism, drug trafficking, and fraud. Occurred as Durov disembarked from his private jet. The warrant was activated upon his arrival from Azerbaijan. Durov is currently in custody under investigation by the National Anti-Fraud Office (ONAF).
