Visa Stablecoin Settlement Surpasses $20 Billion as Crypto Card Payments Surge

Visa’s stablecoin settlement volume has surpassed a $20 billion annualized run rate, more than 15 times higher than a year ago, as stablecoin-linked cards move deeper into mainstream payments.
More than 160 stablecoin card programs are now live globally, while payment volume across those programs jumped nearly 200% year over year. The rapid growth is also creating demand for new financing models because crypto card programs must fund settlement seven days a week. Visa is working with Credit Coop on stablecoin-based revolving credit facilities that automate repayments onchain and have helped reduce borrowing costs by as much as 30%. Credit Coop says it has financed more than $2.5 billion with zero defaults. The trend suggests stablecoins are evolving beyond crypto trading into core payment and credit infrastructure, with financing capacity potentially becoming the next major constraint on growth.
