Uniswap (UNI) Decentralized Exchange Integrates with Layer-2 Platform Supported by Coinbase

Uniswap, the leading decentralized exchange (DEX), has been integrated onto Base, the Ethereum layer-2 developed by US crypto giant Coinbase.
Base, utilizing the blockchain-scaling solution Optimism (OP), introduced its testnet earlier this year. Uniswap Labs has announced seamless Base integration on X. Enabling users to directly engage in swaps or liquidity addition via the Uniswap web app on the Base chain. As the world’s largest and most liquid DEX. Uniswap records over $453 million in 24-hour trading volume and supports more than 1,700 tradable crypto assets, according to CoinGecko data.
Base becomes the eighth chain supported by Uniswap, designed by Coinbase engineers to align with Ethereum, Ethereum layer-2s like Optimism, and alternative layer-1s like Solana (SOL). Furthermore, Base introduces the “Genesis Builder NFT” as a reward for early developers, attainable through deploying a decentralized application (DApp) and fulfilling an on-chain application. Notably, Coinbase has clarified its intentions of not issuing a new network token.
