UK Regulator Sues HTX for Illegal Crypto Promotions

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has filed a lawsuit in London’s High Court against the crypto exchange HTX. For marketing crypto asset services to UK consumers without the required authorization.

The regulator highlighted that HTX, which is listed on its warning list. Breached Britain’s financial promotions regime by reaching domestic users despite lacking the necessary regulatory credentials.

The case marks a major enforcement step by the FCA in its effort to clamp down on non-compliant crypto firms operating across borders. It underscores the UK’s increasing focus on ensuring that overseas platforms adhere to local rules. When targeting British investors and reinforces that the watchdog will not hesitate to take legal action to uphold market integrity and consumer protection
