Traditional Finance Entities Making a Comeback in Crypto Landscape, Notes Billionaire Mike Novogratz

Galaxy Investment Partners CEO Mike Novogratz observes a notable resurgence of major traditional financial players entering the blockchain arena.
In a recent Bloomberg report, Novogratz highlights the renewed interest of institutional investors in the crypto markets following last year’s substantial volatility. He notes their return in various capacities, including futures and certain stocks, but more significantly, in structural aspects. Novogratz cites PayPal’s introduction of a new stablecoin, PayPalUSD (PYUSD), as a significant indicator of this trend. PYUSD aims to maintain a 1:1 peg with the US dollar, and Novogratz suggests that if PayPal were to create an interest-bearing stablecoin, it could potentially disrupt the conventional banking system.
Furthermore, Novogratz expresses confidence in the stability of the market-leading stablecoin, Tether (USDT), asserting that any concerns of a significant run on Tether causing market turmoil are unwarranted. As the head of Galaxy, a firm specializing in cryptocurrency and blockchain investments, Novogratz is a prominent cryptocurrency advocate, often referred to as a “Bitcoin Bull.” He firmly believes in the future potential of cryptocurrency as a transformative force in the financial landscape.
