Tokenized Asset Coalition Predicts Tokenization Surge and Evolution in 2024

The Tokenized Asset Coalition (TAC), an organization advocating for blockchain adoption of real-world assets, has released its “State of Tokenization” report, forecasting increased tokenization practices across various asset classes in 2024.

The report notes the emergence of a tokenized risk curve, particularly highlighting the dominance of U.S. dollar-based stablecoins and centralized stablecoins over decentralized equivalents. Anticipating a surge in euro-pegged tokens and alternative stablecoins, the report points to significant growth in the tokenization of U.S. treasuries, private credit platforms, and digital tokenized bonds in 2023.

Despite regulatory uncertainties and infrastructure challenges, TAC predicts continued growth in tokenization throughout 2024. Expectations foresee stablecoins, private credit, tokenized treasuries, and digital bonds evolving, thereby contributing to the broader adoption of tokenized asset markets. Industry leaders, such as Jeremy Allaire, CEO of Circle, foresee institutions like Blackrock offering tokenized versions of products in the coming year, further supporting the expansion of tokenization practices.
