Tether Takes Profit on Bitdeer as AI Expansion Drives Mining Stock Rally

Tether has reduced its stake in Bitcoin mining and AI infrastructure company Bitdeer after a strong rally in the stock fueled by growing investor interest in artificial intelligence and data center businesses.
The stablecoin issuer sold approximately 627,000 Bitdeer shares for around $12.7 million while still retaining a significant 19.7% ownership stake, remaining one of the company’s largest shareholders. The sale comes after Tether increased its position earlier in the year during a market downturn, suggesting the latest move was primarily profit-taking following Bitdeer’s sharp recovery.
Investors have become increasingly optimistic about Bitdeer’s expansion into AI cloud services and data center infrastructure, which has helped boost the company’s valuation beyond its traditional Bitcoin mining business. Despite trimming its holdings, Tether’s continued large stake signals ongoing confidence in Bitdeer’s long-term strategy as the company expands its presence in both AI and digital asset infrastructure markets.
