S&P Global Merges Crypto and Equities in New Tokenized Index

S&P Global is set to launch the S&P Digital Markets 50 Index. A hybrid benchmark combining 15 leading cryptocurrencies and 35 public firms tied to blockchain.
The index will be tradable via a token called dShares, created in partnership with Dinari. Each crypto in the index must have a minimum market cap of $300 million, and equity components at least $100 million. No single component will exceed 5% of the total, ensuring diversification. Participants will include names like MicroStrategy, Coinbase, and Riot Platforms. S&P says the move is meant to “move crypto from margins to mainstream,” bridging traditional and digital markets.
