Solana ETF Verdict Pushed Back as SEC Extends Review Period

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has used its final 60-day extension to delay decisions on multiple Solana ETF proposals, including those from Bitwise, 21Shares, Canary Funds, and Marinade Finance, setting an October 16 deadline for approval or denial.
The SEC cited the need for more time to assess proposed rule changes under its Commodity-Based Trust Share framework, which governs disclosure, eligibility, and surveillance requirements. Analysts note that unresolved questions about Solana’s regulatory classification, network stability, and market safeguards could influence not only these filings but also the future of other altcoin-linked ETFs.
