Shiba Inu’s Shibarium Mainnet Launch Boosts Scalability and Utility on Ethereum

The Shiba Inu (SHIB) ecosystem has introduced Shibarium, its Ethereum layer-2 network, marking a significant step forward.

The mainnet launch, following an extensive beta testnet phase with 21 million users, establishes a technical foundation for the entire SHIB state. Shibarium aims to address Ethereum’s scalability challenges, offering improved throughput and reduced transaction fees, even surpassing those of Polygon (MATIC). SHIB developer Kaal Dhairya explained that early tests revealed lower transaction costs compared to Polygon, along with instant speeds. Beyond its technical advancements, Shibarium contributes to Shiba Inu’s transformation from a meme coin.

Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama highlighted Shibarium’s unique capability to empower governance and the Shiba State framework, ensuring cost-efficient transactions and enabling ownership for the ShibArmy community and beyond. Built on Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPOS), Shibarium utilizes validators and delegators for transaction processing and ecosystem security. Its versatility extends to supporting various components of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, fostering unity, diversity, and decentralization.
