Samsung SDS and Upbit Operator Dunamu Partner to Expand Stablecoin Infrastructure

Samsung SDS, the IT services arm of Samsung Group, is deepening its digital asset strategy by partnering with Dunamu, the operator of South Korea’s largest cryptocurrency exchange Upbit, to develop stablecoin infrastructure and next-generation blockchain-based financial services.
During the company’s latest earnings call, Samsung SDS said it plans to combine its cloud, cybersecurity, and enterprise IT capabilities with Dunamu’s blockchain expertise to support stablecoin issuance, settlement, AI-powered payment solutions, and broader digital asset infrastructure. The company also highlighted its experience in tokenized securities projects and end-to-end stablecoin validation with domestic financial institutions as key competitive strengths.
The initiative reflects growing momentum among major South Korean corporations to build enterprise-grade blockchain infrastructure as regulatory clarity around digital assets improves, reinforcing stablecoins’ expanding role in modern payment systems and the convergence of traditional financial services with blockchain technology.
