Report: 14% of Early Adopter Kiwis Invest in Cryptocurrency, Prioritizing It Above Real Estate

A recent survey reveals that 14% of New Zealanders have owned cryptocurrency or digital assets, marking an increase from 10% in 2022. 

The data identifies New Zealanders as early adopters, with a significant shift towards preferring cryptocurrency over traditional investments like real estate. While only 16% of respondents would invest in real estate. A striking 60% plan to invest in cryptocurrency, demonstrating a cross-generational appeal. 

This trend is driven by younger generations facing challenges in real estate affordability and older generations seeking alternative investments for retirement. However, knowledge gaps remain, with 72% unsure how to start with cryptocurrency and 67% lacking reliable information sources. Janine Grainger, CEO of Easy Crypto.
