Protect Your Assets: Coinbase Shares Essential Tips to Avoid Crypto Scams

Coinbase has backed Australia’s Scams Awareness Week, highlighting the need for consumer education to combat fraud.

John O’Loghlen, Coinbase APAC’s managing director, shared tips for protecting against scams, such as verifying website URLs, using two-factor authentication, and being cautious of urgent requests from unknown sources. Despite crypto transactions representing less than 0.34% of global fraud.

O’Loghlen noted that scammers are targeting specific groups, including older Australians, with increasingly sophisticated tactics. He emphasized the importance of ongoing collaboration between the government and crypto industry to safeguard consumers.
