Oracle Altcoin Unveils Upcoming Staking Protocol Upgrade on Ethereum (ETH) Blockchain

Chainlink, the blockchain oracle service, has unveiled its upcoming staking mechanism upgrade, known as Chainlink Staking v0.2.
This update introduces a new pool of 45 million LINK tokens and focuses on four core components: an improved unbonding mechanism, stake slashing, a dynamic rewards system, and a modular architecture for smoother future upgrades. The unbonding feature defines the period after unstaking, providing a time frame before coins are released. Stake slashing allows the network to penalize non-compliant or malicious behavior by stakers. The migration to v0.2 occurs in three phases, with priority given to v0.1 stakers.
Chainlink introduced staking on the Ethereum mainnet in December to bolster security and expand its utility across various applications. As the Chainlink blog states, this enhancement is vital for ensuring the performance guarantees of oracle services and allows Chainlink decentralized oracle networks (DONs) to scale for a wider range of applications in both Web3 and traditional Web2 industries.
