New Crypto ATM Rules in Nebraska Aim to Safeguard Consumers

Nebraska has introduced new legislation, LB609, to enhance consumer protection against cryptocurrency fraud.
Signed into law by Governor Jim Pillen, the bill mandates that cryptocurrency ATM operators obtain licenses, disclose fees, implement anti-fraud measures, and submit quarterly reports to the Nebraska Department of Banking and Finance.
The law also requires clear consumer warnings, transaction limits, and refund policies for fraudulent transactions. This move aims to balance fostering a strong crypto industry while safeguarding Nebraskans from fraud and ensuring greater transparency within the sector.
