July Sees Activation of 76 Inactive Bitcoin Wallets, Revealing $424 Million
In July, Bitcoin rose by 2.5% against the U.S. dollar, despite a mid-month dip to $64,350 per coin. Noteworthy events included significant transfers by Mt Gox and the U.S. government.
Meanwhile, 76 dormant Bitcoin wallets, established between 2010 and 2017, became active, spending 6,536.17 BTC, worth $424 million. Wallets from 2013 made the largest moves, transferring 2,260.008 BTC, with notable transactions occurring throughout the month.
Dormant addresses from 2012, 2016, and 2017 also saw substantial activity, revealing a trend where previously inactive wallets suddenly reactivated, highlighting the dynamic nature of blockchain transactions.
