Jordan Cracks Down: New Law Targets Unauthorized Crypto Use

Jordan is set to enforce its new Virtual Currency Trading Law of 2025 within 90 days. Introducing strict regulation of digital asset activities.
Only entities licensed by the Securities Commission will be allowed to operate, and violations could result in at least one year of imprisonment and fines up to $141,000. While the law excludes central bank digital currency and digital securities under other regulators. It grants the Central Bank the authority to approve certain crypto payments and supervise related financial institutions. The law also empowers authorities to shut down unlicensed crypto operations. Signaling a firm stance on unauthorized digital asset activity in the country.
