Jim Rickards Predicts Global Recession And Banking Crisis In 2024

In his latest predictions, renowned economist and investment lawyer Jim Rickards anticipates a tumultuous 2024 for the global economy, foreseeing a global recession that will impact major players like the U.S., China, and Japan.
Rickards argues that the U.S. Federal Reserve’s tightening policies are unlikely to achieve a soft landing, and reports of inverted yield curves, rising defaults in commercial real estate, declining industrial production, reduced job creation, and falling bank loans suggest the U.S. might already be in a recession. Similarly, the heavy burden of debts on China’s economy is expected to cause its stimulus reopening policies to falter.
Rickards also warns of a continuation of the banking crisis into 2024, with midsize regional banks taking center stage. He cautions investors against complacency, emphasizing the historical pattern of financial crises unfolding in stages. Rickards suggests a potential global crisis affecting capital markets, with stocks facing a downturn of up to 50%, while gold and silver could fare well in a flight-to-quality scenario. Brace for a wild ride in the coming year, warns Rickards.
