Italy Unveils Tough Measures Against Crypto Market Manipulation

Italy is ramping up its monitoring of crypto assets and risk management efforts. A recently reviewed draft decree reveals plans for hefty fines targeting market manipulators.
Ranging from $5,400 to $5.4 million (€5,000 to €5 million), for offenses like insider trading, unauthorized disclosure of inside information, or market manipulation. These measures fall in line with a European regulation introduced last year.
Italy’s central bank and market watchdog, Consob, will assume responsibility for overseeing cryptocurrency activities, aiming to uphold financial stability and ensure smooth market operations.
