India’s Competition Commission Clears Coinbase’s Minority Stake in CoinDCX, Boosting Crypto Market Expansion

India’s Competition Commission has approved Coinbase’s plan to acquire a minority stake in CoinDCX’s parent company. DCX Global, removing a key regulatory hurdle and strengthening the U.S. exchange’s strategic presence in one of the world’s fastest-growing crypto markets.

The clearance comes after Coinbase first announced its investment in October at a valuation of about $2.45 billion and follows years of partnership between the two firms. This approval is seen as a positive sign for foreign investment in India’s digital asset ecosystem. Potentially paving the way for Coinbase to deepen local operations, reintroduce services and expand offerings. Including plans for a rupee on-ramp in 2026.
