FIFA Unveils Exclusive NFT Collection for FIFA Club World Cup 2023 on Algorand and Polygon

FIFA announced the launch of a new series of NFT collectibles for the FIFA Club World Cup Saudi Arabia 2023, available on both the Algorand and Polygon scaling networks.

This initiative marks the first release under FIFA’s collaboration with crypto startup Modex, now overseeing strategic management of FIFA’s digital collectibles platform, FIFA+ Collect. While FIFA continues to release NFTs on Algorand via its platform, it is expanding to Polygon through drops on the OpenSea marketplace.

The launch of 1,000 total NFTs for the FIFA Club World Cup includes the first 100 on Algorand, set to release on December 15, featuring rare collectibles offering the chance to secure tickets for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final. The remaining 900 NFTs will drop on OpenSea on December 19, with further releases on Polygon at OpenSea. FIFA clarified that while it is expanding to Polygon, it is not shifting away from Algorand, emphasizing a commitment to making technological choices that serve the interests of users. The FIFA Club World Cup, featuring top teams like English Premier League champions Manchester City, commenced in Jeddah.
