Early Miner’s Legacy – 1,000 Bitcoins Worth $41.87M on the Move

Stepping out of the shadows in 2021, a notable bitcoin whale from the 2010 era has recently moved 1,000 bitcoins, valued at $41.87 million at current exchange rates, by transferring 20 block rewards.
This is a recurring pattern for the whale, previously observed during the bull run in late 2020 and into 2021. The whale spent a total of 1,000 bitcoins from addresses created in 2010, with each wallet spending 50 BTC at block height 819,796. The whale moved the funds from 20 legacy bitcoin addresses to a Pay-to-Script-Hash (P2SH) address, commonly used for multi-signature transactions.
This whale’s history suggests a miner accumulating bitcoins in the latter months of 2010, consistently employing the same spending methods. The latest transfer, occurring as BTC hovers near $42K, aligns with the whale’s tendency to act during upward price trends. However, it remains uncertain whether the whale simply moved the funds between wallets or sold them, as the recent transfer had limited privacy, revealing identified co-spending and matched addresses among the 20 transfers.
