Deutsche Bank Predicts Bitcoin Will Join Gold in Central Bank Reserves by 2030

Deutsche Bank analysts say Bitcoin is likely to become a reserve asset for central banks. Alongside gold, by around 2030.
They argue this shift is driven by Bitcoin’s capped supply, increasing legitimacy, and advantages in portability and security relative to physical gold. The bank acknowledges Bitcoin’s volatility as a hurdle. But expects it will evolve over time similarly to gold. In its report, Deutsche Bank sees Bitcoin and gold as complementary hedges — both offering diversification, inflation defense, and geopolitical risk coverage in central bank portfolios.
