Data Breach Hits Hundreds of Thousands in U.S.—SSNs and Private Info Compromised

A data breach at LexisNexis Risk Solutions (LNRS) has exposed the personal information of 364,333 Americans. On December 25, 2024. An unauthorized party accessed LNRS data through a third-party software platform, though LNRS’s own systems were not compromised.
Exposed details may include names, contact information, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, or birth dates. Though no financial or credit card data was affected. LNRS has notified affected individuals, offered two years of free identity monitoring, and is working with cybersecurity experts and law enforcement to investigate and strengthen security. So far, no misuse of the data has been reported.
