Crypto Market Dynamics: Bitcoin Flows Surge, Binance Receives Over 60%
In less than a week, centralized cryptocurrency exchanges have witnessed a substantial increase in bitcoin holdings, with an influx of 21,436 BTC, valued at approximately $928 million.
This surge comes on the heels of a recent low recorded on December 4, 2023, when the total amount of bitcoin stored on exchanges hit 2,001,259. The current aggregate of BTC on these trading platforms has risen to 2,022,695. Notably, a significant portion of this influx, totaling 12,896 BTC ($558M), has flowed into Binance, reaffirming its position as a major player in the crypto exchange market. Bitfinex also experienced a notable addition of around 7,224 BTC, amounting to a value of $313 million.
While the bitcoin market on exchanges shows signs of increased activity, the situation with ether deposits presents a more modest picture. Ether saw a relatively modest rise of about 7,092 on centralized exchanges, valuing at $16.42 million based on current ETH exchange rates. In contrast, ERC20-based stablecoins have experienced a decrease in quantity since December 4, 2023, declining from 17.79 billion to the current figure of 17.60 billion. Despite their contribution to the fiat token market, ERC20-based stablecoins appear to have a smaller impact compared to the dominance of the 47.82 billion tether issued on the Tron network.
