Coinbase Validators Reach 99.98% Uptime With 4.5M ETH Staked Globally

Coinbase reported that its Ethereum validators achieved 99.98% uptime in Q1 2026 while securing approximately 4.5 million ETH across infrastructure spread over five countries.
The performance exceeded the Ethereum network average, highlighting growing institutional demand for reliable large-scale staking services. The validator network operates across multiple cloud providers and geographic regions to reduce single points of failure, an increasingly important factor for ETF issuers, institutions, and enterprise clients entering Ethereum staking. Coinbase also confirmed it is expanding client diversity with an additional consensus client integration to further strengthen network resilience.
The update reflects the continued institutionalization of Ethereum staking, with nearly one-third of ETH supply now locked in staking systems. As staking infrastructure becomes more critical to Ethereum’s ecosystem, reliability, decentralization, and operational scale are emerging as key competitive advantages among major providers.
