Coinbase Launches 170+ Derivatives Contracts for UK Professional Investors With Up to 50x Leverage

Coinbase is expanding its UK business by launching more than 170 derivatives contracts for eligible professional investors. Covering cryptocurrencies, commodities, equities, and foreign exchange. The rollout includes perpetual contracts with up to 50x leverage and 24/7 trading.

Dated futures offering up to 20x leverage, and crypto options supporting calls, puts, spreads, and multi-leg strategies. Access will be introduced progressively over the coming weeks and months and follows Coinbase’s UK investment-services authorization obtained in July. Which allows the company to offer regulated financial instruments alongside its crypto products. The expansion forms part of Coinbase’s broader “Everything Exchange” strategy, aimed at bringing crypto and traditional financial markets together on a single regulated platform. Coinbase also highlighted the scale of the opportunity, noting that global crypto derivatives trading volume routinely reaches around 4.4 times spot-market volume.Making derivatives an increasingly important part of its international growth strategy.
