The incident also reinforced a critical Bitcoin self-custody lesson: a compromised seed phrase remains unsafe even when moved to another hardware wallet. Affected users were therefore advised to generate entirely new seeds. While manufacturers highlighted additional protections such as multiple entropy sources, passphrases and multisig setups.
