Bitcoin Hits Three-Month High as Zcash Leads Crypto Market With 40% Weekly Surge

The crypto market gained 2% during the first week of September, briefly reaching a total capitalization of $2.82 trillion.
Bitcoin led the broader recovery, climbing above $82,200 on Sept. 3—its highest level in more than three months—before pulling back and finishing the week about 1.2% higher with a market capitalization near $1.6 trillion. Zcash (ZEC) emerged as the week’s standout performer, surging nearly 40% and breaking above $1,200 for the first time since 2016, allowing it to reenter the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization. BNB, Monero and Cardano each gained around 7%, while Ethereum slipped 0.5% and XRP and Solana posted modest declines. Overall, altcoins gained 2.2%, suggesting that market strength broadened beyond Bitcoin even as volatility remained elevated.
