Bitcoin Eyes $100K as Prediction Markets and Wall Street Split on What Comes Next

Bitcoin’s path toward $100,000 is gaining attention again. But prediction-market traders remain significantly more cautious than Wall Street analysts.
On Polymarket, nearly $59.7 million has been wagered on Bitcoin’s 2026 price targets, with traders assigning a 69% chance of reaching $85,000, 49% for $90,000, but only 29% for $100,000 before year-end. Kalshi shows similar caution, pricing roughly a 29% probability of Bitcoin reaching $100,000 before January 2027.
Wall Street is considerably more bullish. Bernstein projects Bitcoin at around $125,000 by the end of 2026, $150,000 by mid-2027 and potentially $300,000 by the end of 2029, citing institutional ownership, ETF demand, Bitcoin’s fixed supply and rising sovereign debt. However, prediction markets are still pricing substantial downside risk, including a 67% chance Bitcoin touches $70,000 before year-end. The contrast suggests investors increasingly believe another six-figure Bitcoin rally is possible, but the market expects significant volatility before getting there.
