Bitcoin Bull Market Setup Echoes 2015 as Willy Woo Sees Potential for a New Cycle

Bitcoin analyst Willy Woo says the current market is beginning to resemble 2015. The early stage of the cycle that eventually led to Bitcoin’s 2017 bull market.

Woo points to Bitcoin’s weakening correlation with the S&P 500, strengthening BTC liquidity and signs of vulnerability in equities as evidence that Bitcoin could increasingly move independently from traditional stocks. Recent data also shows Bitcoin becoming more correlated with gold while its short-term relationship with the S&P 500 has moved closer to zero.

However, the bullish interpretation remains disputed. Cryptoquant contributor Darkfost argues that longer-term data still shows a positive Bitcoin-S&P 500 correlation and no clear sustained decoupling. The disagreement highlights how different calculation periods can produce very different market signals. Meaning the 2015 comparison is not confirmation of another major bull run. Still, the combination of improving Bitcoin liquidity and changing correlations is strengthening the debate over whether BTC may be entering a new phase of its market cycle.
