Binance Joins EU Crackdown on Crypto-Funded Digital Piracy

Binance has worked with European law enforcement in an operation targeting the cryptocurrency networks used to fund large digital piracy services.

Led by Europol and EUIPO, the initiative focused on tracing and blocking crypto transactions linked to illegal IPTV platforms and unauthorized streaming services. By cutting off these payment channels, authorities aim to weaken the financial structure that supports large-scale piracy operations.

As part of the effort, Binance identified suspicious activity, froze accounts connected to piracy-related transactions, and provided intelligence to investigators. The operation uncovered significant crypto flows tied to illicit streaming networks, highlighting the growing role of blockchain analysis in enforcement. The crackdown reflects increasing cooperation between regulators and crypto platforms to disrupt illegal digital operations at their financial roots.
