Binance Commits $53M to Launch Medá and Expand Fiat-to-Crypto Services in Mexico

Binance has unveiled Medá, a newly licensed Electronic Payment Funds Institution (IFPE) in Mexico. Backed by an investment of over one billion pesos ($53M) over four years.
Operated as an independent vertical within the exchange, Medá will provide peso deposit and withdrawal services, streamlining fiat on- and off-ramps for crypto users. Supervised by Mexican financial regulators. The platform is designed to promote financial inclusion, education, and compliance, while strengthening Mexico’s role as a regional fintech hub. Binance says the move underscores its commitment to working within local regulatory frameworks as it expands digital asset access in Latin America.
