Bank of Montreal Filing Reveals $2,970 XRP Exposure Within $303.65 Billion Portfolio

A regulatory filing from Bank of Montreal (BMO) has revealed $2,970 in XRP-linked investment products within its consolidated $303.65 billion securities portfolio. Highlighting how crypto exposure is increasingly appearing within traditional financial institutions.
The position consists of 323 shares of the REX-Osprey XRP ETF valued at $2,771 and 20 shares of the ProShares Ultra XRP ETF valued at $199. Both attributed to BMO-controlled investment adviser Stoker Ostler Wealth Advisors. However, the exposure is extremely small—just 0.000001% of the reported portfolio—and the filing does not disclose the beneficial owner or investment strategy, meaning it should not be interpreted as BMO itself making a significant bet on XRP. The two products also provide different forms of exposure: REX-Osprey is not a conventional pure spot XRP fund. While ProShares Ultra XRP targets 2x XRP’s daily performance using derivatives. The disclosure nevertheless illustrates how regulated exchange-traded products are creating new channels for XRP exposure inside conventional wealth-management portfolios, without requiring investors to directly hold or custody the cryptocurrency.
