Bank of America Supports 1–4% Crypto Allocation for Client Portfolios

Bank of America has endorsed a 1% to 4% allocation to digital assets for its wealth-management clients, marking a shift from its earlier restrictions on crypto recommendations.

Beginning in early 2026, clients using Merrill, Private Bank, and Merrill Edge will gain access to regulated investment products such as spot Bitcoin ETFs. The bank says the guidance reflects growing interest in digital assets as part of diversified portfolios. By allowing limited exposure, Bank of America aims to give clients access to emerging opportunities in the crypto sector while maintaining a controlled approach to risk.
