Apecoin (APE) Enters New Era with Apechain Development by Horizen Labs and Collaborators

Horizen Labs, in collaboration with Offchain Labs and the Arbitrum Foundation, is leading the development of Apechain, a dedicated blockchain for the apecoin (APE) community.

Utilizing Arbitrum technology and governed by Apecoin DAO, the initiative aims to enhance the APE ecosystem’s value proposition. The proposal envisions Apechain as a central component of the Ape brand, featuring APE as its native gas token, extending the utility of APE in the broader crypto landscape. With a strategic focus on gaming, Apechain aims to become a hub for next-generation consumer-facing applications and games, prioritizing low fees and fast transactions for an improved user experience.

Despite APE facing a challenging year, down 54% year-to-date, the crypto asset has seen a recent uptick, rising 13% against the U.S. dollar in the past two weeks. The proposal emphasizes maintaining a strong connection with Ethereum, highlighting the influence of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC), and the broader APE community within the Ethereum NFT ecosystem. The collaborative efforts of Horizen Labs, Offchain Labs, and the Arbitrum Foundation aim to position Apechain as a significant advancement for the APE community.
