Adidas Originals and BAPE Unveil Limited-Edition Sneaker Collab with NFT Auction

Apparel brands Adidas Originals and BAPE have collaborated on a limited-edition sneaker collection, presenting the Triple-White Forum 84 BAPE Low.
The collaboration involves an auction for redeemable NFTs using the Adidas Collect platform. This marks Adidas’ first utilization of an auction format for an NFT-related release. The offering comprises 100 Ethereum NFTs, each convertible into a corresponding pair of sneakers. The sneakers highlight BAPE’s signature motifs, such as a shooting star design and the “A Bathing Ape” logo. An NFC chip in each shoe enables access to the NFT-based certificate of authenticity and an accompanying “digital twin” Ethereum NFT.
This digital twin is intended to be compatible with Adidas’ ALTS avatar project, potentially enabling wear within virtual environments. The auction commences on August 22 and will run for 72 hours. Holders of specific ALTS NFT traits and members of the BAPE: (B)APETAVERSE community will gain a bidding advantage. Bidding begins at 0.3 ETH, with no maximum bid, and successful bidders can redeem their tokens for physical shoes and digital twins starting in September. The collaboration marks a celebratory milestone for BAPE’s 30th anniversary.
