Aave’s GHO and First Digital’s FDUSD: The Rise of Dollar-Tied Stablecoins in Cryptocurrency

Recently, the cryptocurrency market has seen the introduction of two stablecoins tied to the U.S. dollar — Aave’s gho (GHO) and First Digital’s stablecoin FDUSD.
These tokens have quickly gained momentum and witnessed significant growth in market capitalization after their launch. In mid-July, Aave, a decentralized finance (defi) lending protocol, unveiled its gho (GHO) stablecoin following a governance proposal. Since then, GHO’s supply has expanded by over 348% within the last 16 days, from 2,510,269 tokens to over 11.25 million in circulation. GHO is popularly traded on Uniswap v3 and Balancer v2, with approximately 357 holders and 3,479 recorded transactions.
On the other hand, First Digital’s FDUSD has seen an even more remarkable ascent. Within just a week of its introduction, FDUSD’s supply surged by a staggering 20,000%, from approximately 1.1 million to over 232 million tokens in circulation. FDUSD currently has 14 holders, with only 98 transfers recorded since its launch.
Binance holds the largest portion of FDUSD’s supply at 96.0563%, followed by another wallet “Binance 15” with 1.4325%. FDUSD’s leading market is tether (USDT), with $65,964,418 traded globally on Binance in the past 24 hours as of August 2, 2023. Additionally, the stablecoin has seen lower trading volumes on BUSD and BNB, with minimal volume on Pancakeswap.
In conclusion, both GHO and FDUSD have made significant strides in the crypto market, attracting attention and growing rapidly since their debut.
